At Smiths Cleaning services, Coleraine we like to share our cleaning love and give you some of our most handy tips on how to go about cleaning your main home rental home.
Check them out;
1-If your oven is dirty and you don’t have a bottle of oven cleaner on hand, or simply prefer an entirely natural solution, try using a combination of vinegar and baking soda. Declan suggests mixing one-half cup of baking soda with water to create a paste. “Next, spread the paste all over the bottom of the oven, the side walls, and the inside of the glass oven door, but avoid the heating elements,” he says.
Leave the mixture on for a minimum of two hours, but note it’s also a great way to clean an oven overnight. Then take a spray bottle, fill it half with water and half with white vinegar and spray it all over the baking soda. “The acid in the vinegar will then react with the baking soda, causing it to foam. This action helps to remove the burnt-on food stains from the oven,” he says.
After leaving that on for another 30 minutes, use a rubber spatula (if necessary) and rag to remove the baking soda mixture. Finish by wiping everything down with a damp cloth.
“This should get all the ovens cleaned in the Coleraine area in no time ! ” LOL
2- With all the entertaining going on in Portrush, Portstewart, Coleraine and Castlerock, there is always a dirty wine glass or three! To revive cloudy glasses we suggest you try soaking stemware in white vinegar for five minutes. Then rinse by hand and dry with a microfiber cloth.
3- Around many rental b and bs / Air B&Bs in Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart we find showers are pretty clogged up. Unclog your shower head by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water and pouring it into a plastic bag. Tie the bag around the shower head to immerse the holes in the solution and secure with a twist tie. Let it soak for up to an hour, then remove and wipe away the loosened deposits.
4-Most Northern Ireland people reach for bleach to obliterate toilet germs and stains. However, Declan says that plain old white vinegar is an effective cleaner. To eliminate hard water stains, soak toilet paper in vinegar and place directly on top of the stain. Let the vinegar-soaked paper sit overnight. The next morning, flush to rinse and the stains should be gone. Declan says that full-strength vinegar also works great on grout and caulk. Use a spray bottle to saturate the area and let it soak in for at least an hour before rinsing.
5- There are a few requests from our customers about what are the best cleaning companies near me that can thoroughly clean fridges and kitchens in a deep clean manner. We use lukewarm soapy water to clean the fridge’s interior surfaces. If you prefer a more natural cleaning solution, consider a vinegar spray (water with white vinegar) or a paste mix of bicarbonate of soda and water. Avoid using harsh detergent sprays inside your fridge as the strong odour can linger and transfer to your food. There are fridge-specific detergents on the market, although we haven’t tested them and can’t vouch for how good they are. Whirlpool, for example, has a specialist mild detergent fridge and freezer cleaning product that’s designed for use inside your appliance and is claimed to be food-safe. It’s called WPro and a 500ml bottle sells for around £9 online.
Finally, check out our friends at Til Vacuum Do Us Part, they have some super ideas on hacks for cleaning your home. It’s a bit orientated for the American home but is still really relevant for cleaning your property in Northern Ireland.
